Riding Dirt Bikes at Zaca Station
Words can’t describe how much fun I had yesterday riding motocross bikes at Zaca Station . After a few weeks of being glued to either the seat of a sportbike or the chair at my desk I finally had the opportunity to escape both as I traveled north to northern California in order to cover this weekend’s road races at Sears Point which you can read about it in the AMA Pro Racing Infineon Preview 2011 . Located off Highway 101 near Buellton, California—Zaca Station is one of the finest moto tracks I’ve ever ridden. If you like pinning it up and downhill’s, floating off medium-to-big yet friendly natural terrain jumps and charging through deep loam then you’re definitely going to need to visit Zaca. Plus the scenery is absolutely beautiful making you feel like you’re riding at a park! If you don’t believe me check out that new Red Bull commercial featuring WMX racer Ashley Fiolek… We brought along our long-term 2011 Honda CRF450R, 2011 KTM 350 SX-F and 2011 Yamaha YZ250 two-stroke. While I had a blast riding them all I really, really, REALLY had fun on the CRF450R. I predict they will be like the snowmobile. everyone thought that the new epa emissions standards would kill the two stroke snowmobile, but it didn’t at all….instead it raised the bar for the manufacturers.
